Bringing Circular Economy to Tasmania
The Tasmanian Waste & Resource Recovery Forum is back and this year, it’s expected to be bigger and better. Tasmania is on a path of progress, releasing a draft Waste Action Plan in July that aims to tackle waste and resource recovery in the jurisdiction through a more strategic approach, and the plan also includes the roll-out of a waste levy and a container refund scheme.
There will no doubt be much to discuss at the forum as Tasmania begins its transition to a circular economy armed with a strategy, and who better to share insights on how to build a strong economy and industry based on circular principles than Green Industries SA’s CEO Vaughan Levitzke. Vaughan will open the Circular Economy session at the forum, detailing SA’s journey in becoming the State with the highest diversion rate and the country’s all-round leader in resource efficiency.
The forum will comprise four sessions focusing on key elements and actions of the plan, including how to ensure Tasmania is levy and CRS ready. A full program will be available shortly.
The 2019 Tasmanian Waste & Resource Recovery Forum will be held on Wednesday, 6 November 2019 from 9am - 5pm at The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel, Hobart.
